About Hope Treatment

Compassionate, evidence-based addiction treatment at our Stockton, California facility. Discover our story, meet our team, and see why families across the Central Valley trust Hope Treatment with their recovery.

Our Story & Mission

Building a legacy of healing in Stockton, California since our founding

Hope Treatment was founded on one unwavering principle: that every person struggling with addiction deserves access to compassionate, clinically excellent care in a safe and dignified setting. Located at 29 S Manthey Rd in Stockton, California, our treatment center opened its doors to serve residents of the Central Valley and beyond who were searching for a genuine path out of substance use disorder.

From our earliest days as a small residential program, we recognized that lasting recovery demands more than detoxification alone. Addiction is a chronic medical condition that affects the body, mind, and spirit simultaneously. Our founders envisioned a facility where physicians, therapists, and counselors would work side by side under one roof, delivering integrated care that addresses every dimension of a patient's well-being.

Over the years, Hope Treatment has grown into a full-spectrum addiction treatment center offering medical detox, residential rehabilitation, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, standard outpatient, and long-term aftercare services. Despite that growth, our core commitment has never changed. Every member of our Stockton staff is guided by the same values that shaped this organization from the beginning: compassion without judgment, clinical excellence without compromise, and an unshakeable belief that recovery is possible for everyone who walks through our doors.

Our Mission: To provide compassionate, evidence-based addiction treatment at our Stockton facility, empowering individuals and families to overcome substance use disorders and build meaningful, lasting lives in recovery.

Our Treatment Approach

Integrating evidence-based medicine with holistic healing for whole-person recovery

At Hope Treatment, we believe that effective addiction treatment must address the whole person, not just the substance use. Our clinical philosophy integrates proven medical interventions with therapeutic modalities that heal the mind, body, and spirit together. Every patient who arrives at our Stockton facility receives a comprehensive clinical assessment conducted by our multidisciplinary team. From that assessment, we develop an individualized treatment plan designed to address the specific medical, psychological, emotional, and social factors driving each patient's addiction.

Our treatment plans are not static documents. As patients progress through our programs, our clinical team continuously evaluates outcomes and adjusts the plan to reflect each individual's evolving needs. What Our Patients Say

Real recovery stories from the Hope Treatment community in Stockton

When I walked through the doors at Hope Treatment on Manthey Road, I had been using opioids for nearly seven years and had lost everything that mattered to me. The residential program gave me structure I desperately needed. My therapist used CBT to help me recognize the triggers I had been blind to for years, and the group therapy sessions connected me with people who truly understood what I was going through. The private room gave me space to process what I was learning each day. After 90 days, I left Stockton with a clarity I had not felt since I was a teenager. I have been sober for fourteen months now, and I owe the foundation of my recovery entirely to the team at Hope Treatment.

Residential Treatment Program — 90 Days

I was terrified of detox. I had heard so many horror stories that I kept putting off getting help, even though I knew my drinking was going to kill me. Dr. Okonkwo and the medical team at Hope Treatment made the entire process far more manageable than I ever imagined. The nurses checked on me constantly, my withdrawal symptoms were carefully managed with medication, and within a week I was stable enough to begin residential treatment. The meditation garden became my favorite place on the campus. I would sit out there every morning and just breathe. That simple practice, which I learned in Hope Treatment's holistic therapy sessions, is something I still do every single day.

Medical Detox & Residential Treatment

As a single mother, I could not afford to leave my children for months at a time, but I knew my addiction was destroying our family. Hope Treatment's intensive outpatient program was exactly what I needed. I attended therapy sessions three times a week at the Stockton facility and was home every evening to put my kids to bed. The DBT skills I learned helped me manage the overwhelming anxiety that had been fueling my substance use for years. Sarah Medina and her clinical team designed a relapse prevention plan that was realistic for my life. I am now ten months into recovery, and for the first time in years, my children have a mother they can count on.

Angela D.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

I struggled with both alcohol addiction and severe depression for most of my adult life. Previous treatment centers only treated one or the other, and I always relapsed within a few months. When I arrived at Hope Treatment in Stockton, they assessed both conditions on day one and built an integrated treatment plan that addressed them together. Dr. Okonkwo worked with me on medication management while I attended individual counseling and 12-Step facilitation groups. The dual diagnosis approach was the breakthrough I had been searching for. I spent time in the art therapy room every afternoon, and that creative outlet became a healthy coping mechanism I never expected. I have been sober for over a year, and my depression is finally under control.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment — Residential

As a mother, watching my son battle addiction for six years was the hardest thing I have ever endured. When he entered residential treatment at Hope Treatment, the staff not only cared for him but included our entire family in the healing process. The family therapy sessions at the Stockton campus helped us understand the role we had unknowingly played in enabling his addiction, and taught us how to set healthy boundaries while still showing love and support. We used the family visiting area on weekends, and each visit I could see him becoming more like himself again. My son completed the program eight months ago, and our relationship is stronger than it has ever been. I will forever be grateful to Hope Treatment for giving me my son back.
